Public Policy

Synergies understands the process and drivers of government policy making through our direct and sustained involvement in the preparation and assessment of policy and our evaluation and analysis of policy benefits and impacts.

We have provided advice in relation to a diverse range of public policy areas including employment and labour economics, health, child safety, the environment, liquor licensing and public finance.

Specifically we advise on policy impact analysis, option development and policy reviews. We undertake reviews of the efficiency and effectiveness of government programs using a range of techniques including productivity analysis, benchmarking and investment evaluation.

Please see below for examples of our work for the Queensland State Library, Queensland Government, and the Department of Child Safety.

Queensland State Library

Conducted an independent review of the public library grants methodology for the Queensland State Library.

Queensland Government

Modelled the impacts of expenditure and donation reform options to assess the impact on political party revenue and government contributions to electoral expenditure.

Department of Child Safety

Undertook a review of the transport costs incurred by foster carers as part of their caring responsibilities and the reimbursement available for these costs from the Department.
