Angela Moody

 

Angela has considerable experience in regulatory reform, regulatory strategy, market design and policy development for infrastructure industries in particular natural gas and electricity.

Angela joined Synergies from Powerdirect Australia (formerly Ergon Energy Retail) where she was the head of regulation. In this role Angela was responsible for the provision of policy advice on the National Electricity Market (NEM) and jurisdictional regulatory regimes, compliance and the development and implementation of regulatory strategies for Powerdirect Australia’s electricity retail businesses and renewable generation portfolio. Angela was also involved with the development of the Queensland FRC regulatory process and responsible for ensuring market readiness for the Powerdirect Australia group.

Angela previously worked for Enertrade and the Queensland Competition Authority where she developed an understanding of regulatory issues from a public policy, commercial, operational and regulator’s perspective.

Projects:

  • Prepared a response to Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal’s (IPART) investigation on whether actual or levellised Major Periodic Maintenance (MPM) should be used for the purposes of the ceiling test;
  • Advised on regulatory design issues for a proposed vertically integrated rail and port facility;
  • Provided advice on the economics of vertical integration;
  • Assisted a vertically integrated firm develop an effective ring fencing regime.
