Ross has over seventeen years experience in the water sector including tariff setting and pricing, water trading and the development of water infrastructure. He has also led the development and negotiation of water supply contracts with the irrigation, mining, power generation and local government sectors. Ross has a unique knowledge and understanding of the full spectrum of regulatory, commercial and resource management aspects of the water industry, particularly as they relate to water users and service providers. He has led and participated in a number of projects at the frontier of water reforms in Australia. Ross joined Synergies in 2005 from SunWater, where he held the position of Commercial Manager. Projects: - Advised on commercial supply arrangements and negotiated supply contracts for major water infrastructure projects including $270M Burdekin-Moranbah Pipeline and $2.4B Western Corridor Recycled Water Project;
- Advised on regulatory and related issues for the proposed $350M Gladstone-Fitzroy Pipeline project;
- Assisted with various submissions to the ACCC on water charge regulation for bulk water and irrigation infrastructure assets;
- Advised Council of Mayors (SEQ) on the commercial and policy merits of the establishment of retail water businesses;and
- Assisted in the development of demand management policies, including commercially-based approaches to curtailment contracts for a major bulk water supplier.
