Jo Blades

 

Jo joined Synergies in early 2005 from Queensland Treasury Corporation, where she worked in a number of different capacities including structured finance, customer account management, financial risk management and the development and delivery of customer training courses in corporate finance and financial risk management.

During her time at Synergies, Jo has been involved in providing advice to a number of businesses on a range of commercial, social policy and regulatory matters.  Jo has also been involved in the preparation of submissions to regulatory bodies on behalf of infrastructure owners, including a number of detailed submissions on the cost of capital.

Projects:

  • Prepared a report on the economic costs of autism spectrum disorder in Australia;
  • Undertook detailed cost of capital reviews for a number of regulated infrastructure owners;
  • Prepared submissions on behalf of infrastructure owners in response to reviews of regulatory frameworks;
  • Assisted an infrastructure owner with the development of its submission as part of the review of its access undertaking;
  • Undertook a public benefit test of further regulation of disability services in Queensland and
  • Analysed the cost of caring for children in foster care as part of a review of the allowances paid to foster carers.
